FRONT A-ARM BRACKET INSTALLATION
(see sketch D)
WARNING :
Prior to installation, turn off the engine, put
in two-wheel driving mode and the transmission in
neutral, and block the wheels.
1)
Raise the front of the ATV off the ground and rem ve the
wheels.
WARNING :
When the ATV is raised, make sure that it is
properly secured/supported to prevent it from
accidentally falling during the installation of the A-arm
brackets. If not properly secured/supported, serious
physical injury could occur.
2)
Remove the front left CV shield. Do not discard. They will be
reinstalled later.
3)
Insert the
1/2” nc X 2-1/2”
carriage bolt (#
11
) into the hole
intended in the front left A-arm bracket (#
6
).
4)
Install the front left A-arm bracket (#
6
) under the lower front
A-arm so that the two parts fit snugly.
NOTE :
The angled parts of the internal clamping plate
(#4) should mate the A-arm bracket (#6) as well as
possible.
5)
Install the internal front A-arm clamping plate (#
4
) above the
lower front A-arm and fasten it to the A-arm bracket (#
6
) using
the
(2) 3/8” nc X 2”
hex bolts (#
8
), the
(2) 3/8” dia
flat washers (#
15
),
and the
(2) 3/8” nc
self-locking nuts (#
13
) (screw the first threads
only).
6)
Install the external front left A-arm clamping plate (#
7
) above the
lower front A-arm and fasten it onto the A-arm bracket (#
6
)
using
(2) 3/8” nc X 2”
hex bolts (#
8
), a
3/8” nc X 3”
hex bolt (#
9
),
(2) 3/8” dia
flat washers (#
15
), and
(3) 3/8” nc
self-locking nuts
(#
13
). Torque to 20 ft-lbs.
IMPORTANT :
Tighten in a manner not to permanently
deform the assembly.
7)
Tighten the bolts installed in
step 5
and make sure they fit
snugly. Torque to 20 ft-lbs.
8)
Repeat
steps 2
to
7
for the opposite side.
